    I think they've got the right idea going, menu is good, space is large and comfortable, we've eaten here several times and had good food, they just always lack a little in different specifics every visit. One time it was very slow bar service, another time it was dry pizza, and another everything was very good. Lack of consistency might be the problem, but give it a try, I would say it's better than the other Italian places in GJ. Good wine list. Good cocktails and beer selection. Food is not overly oily or fatty, cooked properly. I'm still in their corner for now.

    So....I love Italian food. I cook it, we go out for it, I cuddle with it (?). So this looked like a good place and went with some friends. Nice atmosphere inside and friendly wait staff. They bring out some bread and butter and will being olive oil and balsamic if you ask. I think that's where the quality stops... I ordered the Enchiladas Italianas (server said it was really good). The menu description made it sound great. Um...he and I were wrong. It was bland, felt reheated, dull sauce. My buddy ordered the Colorado pizza and he said it was majorly dry. He ate two slices. The rest was thrown out. My friends said the Alfredo was good, but it didn't look too appealing. I had high expectations, but they were thrown to the ground. In Super Mario's voice after you hit him with a turtle shell, "Mama Mia!!"

    My wife ordered a Sauvignon Blanc.... And was told they were out of it so she ordered a Pinot Grigio. The server came back and said they were out of that too.... Something about not getting their delivery today??? Our food was SO bland... i ordered the Penne Vodka and my wife had the Chicken Piccata. Absolutely no flavor. So very disappointing.

    All of the food sucked except the pizza. The food is pretty bad...bland, mostly frozen & canned, and overpriced. The pizza was fantastic. These guys would do great if they dropped the ridiculous "Italian cowboy" thing and concentrated on what they do well---the pizza. The fried ravioli was boring, obviously frozen crap. The calamari was tasteless deep fried stuff with a sucky tomato dipping sauce. Bruschetta was okay. The Tuscany soup was lukewarm and in desperate need of some sort of flavor...not much better than tomato water. The tiramisu was a joke. We took it "to go" and actually threw it away at a rest stop. Fire the cook! On the other hand, the west coast pizza rocked! It was fantastic. The server was excellent. All-in-all, a waste of 80 bucks. -Daddy Maxx Retro

    Would give no stars if I could. Especially since it seems this place is trying to be Enzos. I would say flattering is the best compliment but your food would need to be better and it's NOT! Don't bother with this place.

    The service was good. We took a group of seven for a celebration so everyone had plenty of choices. The fresh bread was warm. The chicken rustica had a lovely light sauce. The portions were large so we all took food home. The raspberry Italian soda was a delight. We would go back.

    My husband and I brought some friends to eat here on a busy Friday night. Brandon, our waiter, was witty, charming and attentive. Two of us started with the Italian margarita's which came with a shot of amaretto...tasty! Brandon brought out a basket of delicious, soft, homemade, bread while we were studying the menu. I had the Eggplant Parmesan, my husband had the Stromboli and our friends ordered Chicken Parmesan. The food was tasty, authentic and appealing to the eye. The ambiance was a bonus. The restaurant was dimly lit and beautifully decorated. This place can serve as both a casual dining experience as well as a romantic date night type of place. Great food! Great service! We will be going back!

    Unfortunately I have to give at least 1 star because zero stars don't count!! Food was tolerable at best no seasoning on the chicken and hardly any marina on the meatball sub. Service was terrible not once did the waitress fill our water glasses and what's up with the tiny little ketchup cups LMAO. Do not eat here it's a complete waste of money.

    Never tried the food. I called in an order for a pizza to go. After arriving 20 minutes later, then waiting for 10 they said it would be 10 more minutes! It wasn't close to busy...... Dominos, here I come disgruntled......

    The calamari taste like it came from a frozen bag, & the marinara sauce was from a jar. The salad was just greens with a sliced tomato chopped up & 1 crouton. The chicken picatta was ok the noodles could have been better, & the lobster ravioli was bland. We wouldn't recommend this please.

    Save yourself time, money and headache. Go eat at Carino's or Olive Garden. If you really want good Italian for the price, go to Il Bistro down town. This place was meh. Service was slow and really didn't give you the feel that they wanted you there. Food lacked flavor and tasted processed. Much better choices in town.

    I've been there 4 times..Each time I left I was angry with myself for making the decision to even go. I went the first time when they were just opening, I told myself they are new and this is just growing pains. Tonight the service was awful, took forever to get our food, the waiter couldn't get the order right, the kitchen was OUT of things, and the food was terrible.Well I won't be mad at myself again I'll NEVER return...spare yourself

    Big changes! Our food and service was exceptional! The staff and our server, Josh were so personable and efficient. Our table ordered the lobster ravioli, chicken piccata and the Italian enchiladas. Salad and fresh baked bread were included in the meal. We were very pleased with all of the entrees Josh recommended the house Cabernet and it was smooth, slightly sweet, but a perfect pairing. The atmosphere was cozy and classy Italian. We had a great time and I would go back again.

    The hostess was so sarcastic I probably will not go back. 2 open signs were lit up & the door was unlocked so I thought they were open. When we walked in, the staff was gathered in one area near the front. The hostess walked over with her jacket on. When asked if they were open, she replied sarcastically, "We close at 9 and its 850 now". Then turned & walked away. They should lock the door &turn off the sign if theyre closed, at least politely explain it. Thats ok, I'll stick with il bistro & enzos.

    Went for breakfast. Sat with my friend who was already seated. No service. Two friends joined us after 15 minutes--still no service. I asked for service finally. Once we ordered, it was 15 minutes more. 2 out of 4 orders wrong, lots of staff milling around-continual non-attention. Never checked for refills, waiter completely non-attentive. Restaurant not busy in the slightest. If I could give a minus one, I would. 4 people not going back ever.

    The first thing we noticed was how warm feeling decor in the restaurant was. I asked for a table for 4 as I was to be joined by 3 friends. The hostess (?) cleared a table and sat me. Minutes later grasping paper napkins in one hand and knives and forks in the other she haphazardly sat the table. No rhyme or reason to the placement of anything. She brought over menus. I had to ask for the wine list, which was the shortest wine list I have ever seen. The list had only wines by the glass listed, no bottle prices. The server then came over. I had to ask for water. I noticed more than enough staff for the guests present. I also noticed that at no given time were serving trays ever used. When we asked for more water the server took 2 of our glasses to refill elsewhere. She did not bring a pitcher over to fill at the table and all I can say about that is that I'm glad we were all friends because who knows who got who's glass!! The entrees were good and served in a timely manner. The Caprese Salad was odd. There was no basil and it was served over huge amounts of romaine lettuce and brought out by one of the kitchen staff. One of my biggest disappointments was Citrola's not having items pictured on their facebook page. Social Media is one of the most powerful tools for people today when used properly. We also noticed the very, very relaxed attitude of the employees. Leaning, chatting, picking teeth with toothpicks, eating and chewing gum. Even though the entrees were good, the service really wasn't, so we probably won't go back. The staff really needs some training and should probably take the food handler's safety course at the heath department.

    Lazy service, consistently bad food, definitely not worth the high prices. Owners are immature and not nice, if you have an issue or a bad experience you are on your own.

    I have to agree with Don, Fred and Connee posts. My wife and I went to Citrola's approximately 3 weeks ago - service was ok, food was ok, and pricing ok. So we decided to return this past Friday, 17 Jan, after 7:00 PM. Hardly anyone in restaurant and waited over 5 min to be seated (when someone finally came out of kitchen). Once seated, waiter didn't come. Lots of noise, laughing, etc., emanating from kitchen. Finally, the woman who seated us came and took our order. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. After 20 min, told only 1 meatball available (?in an Italian restaurant??) so agreed to 1 meatball and 1 italian sausage. Meatball tiny, but ok. Sausage tiny, and mostly dried up, and was way too spicey as was sauce. The North End of Boston (Italian section) this is not. And still charged the full $15 when food was hardly touched. Wife's dinner was great. Dinner salads, not so great. I think this business was opened specifically for staff to party in the kitchen rather than serve fine Italian food to customers. Too bad.

    The food was decent but not worth the high prices. Not impressed by the staff who seemed mildly interested in serving us. Paper napkins and decor also not impressive. We got the creme brûlée cheesecake that turned out unimpressive and not home made. Olive Garden and carinos are both close by and better options

    Best Italian food in Grand Junction, by faaaaaaar! The steak and cheese I got was delicious as was my companion's eggplant parm! Can't wait to go back!

    Had a fantastic dinnner here! Great food and great service! It is new so give it a try! Break that Olive Garden habit and try some EXCELLENT Italian food!

    LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Beautiful decor - very tasteful and elegant - service was very good and the food was FANTASTIC! Forget Olive Garden and that chain food taste - this is real Italian and the best in the Grand Valley! Will be back with friends and family often!

    We eat here a couple times a month (6 times total), because we like the food. However, the service is consistently poor. Hope ownership/management makes changes in employee selection/training, I'd like this restaurant to stay in business.
